RP Culture has a new webpage
(Philippine Star: 02 June 2000)
The government has preserved important aspects of Philippine culture in cyberspace to make sure that present and future generations appreciate the battles that Filipinos have waged for freedom. Pablo Trillana III, chairman of the National Historical Institute (NHI), said this is the government's response to the influence by Western culture on today's generation of Filipinos. "There is much influence on Filipinos coming from Western culture. But we see an oppurtunity to compete with it," Trillana said on President Estrada's weekly -TV program.

National Commision for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) chairman Jaime Laya said his office operates the Internet site at http://www.ncca.gov.ph.
